The Fonds cantonal d’art contemporain was willing to showcase audio-visual works by contemporary artists. Project Mire* was born.

Mire pursues the following objectives:

Setting artistic interventions within urban development.

Installing art works in stations to accompany public transport.

Connecting the wider public with contemporary art.

Provide enriching and appreciated added value to the travelling experience.

Programming regular renewal of art made by established and emerging artists.

Showcasing works from the local heritage belonging to the Funds for Contemporary Art of the Canton and the City of Geneva.

* Mire has several meanings: a goal, a target, a focal point, a device for aiming at or measuring distances, a control process for optical instruments or quality setting for image broadcasting.
